About this collection

Collection includes photographs of the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge and the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System shot by Santa Fe-based photographic artist, Jamey Stillings.

A collection of 285 images represents a range of work from The Bridge at Hoover Dam, a photography project about construction of the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. First photographs were taken on March 4-5, 2009, when Stillings first encountered the bridge’s construction while crossing Hoover Dam on a photo road trip. His final shoot for the project was January 12-14, 2011. In April 2012, he was commissioned to undertake an aerial shoot of the bridge. Stillings hopes to provide a fuller understanding of the design and construction of the Bridge and its relationship to Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the Colorado River within Black Canyon, as well as his photographic and creative process. UNLV Libraries acquired this collection in 2014.

A collection of 300 predominantly black and white images represents a range of work from The Evolution of Ivanpah Solar, a photography project about construction of the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System in the Mojave Desert along the Nevada/California border. Additional information about the project is available in the digital collection.
